COPS KEEP BUSY WITH DRUG, ALCOHOL IMPAIRED CHARGES

MUSKOKA — Tis the season to be caught impaired behind the wheel, police report.

On Friday Dec. 4, at 5:24 a.m., police in central Muskoka responded to a report from motorists of a single vehicle collision on Ecclestone Drive, west of Muskoka Beach Road in Bracebridge.

Officers arrived and after investigating charged 35-year-old Aaron Austin, of Bracebridge, with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

Austin is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 2, 2021.

A few days before, on Tuesday Dec. 1, at 10:12 a.m., police in north Muskoka say they observed a car swerving shoulder-to-shoulder on Hwy. #35 in the Lake of Bays Township.

Police stopped the car and say the driver was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

Their investigation resulted in John Salvagna, 52, Algonquin Highlands Township, being charged with Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired, contrary to section 320.14 (1)(a)  of the Criminal Code.

Salvagna was released to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Huntsville Jan. 20, 2021.

A Bracebridge man and a man from Algonquin Highlands face impaired driving charges after being stopped by police last week.
