SIMCOE 19 – MUSKOKA 0 IN TUESDAY COVID SCORING — IF YOU’RE COUNTING

Mark Clairmont | MuskokaTODAY.com

MUSKOKA — Amid some rising countrywide COVID fears Muskoka has avoided another day of zero reported cases today.

The same can’t be said for Simcoe, where 19 people have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Yesterday the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported 55 for the weekend in Simcoe and none in Muskoka.

While the numbers in Simcoe are a serious concern heading into Halloween Saturday night, they are about on par with previous stats.

And aren’t taking off as in many parts of the country.

Today, Tuesday Oct. 27, Ontario actually saw a drop to 827 from 851 Monday.

Quebec stayed just below 1,000 with 963 cases.

Alberta and B.C.’s new government have imposed new sanctions, and Manitoba is seeing record numbers that had Premier Brian Pallister chastising residents to “grow up” and quit doing “dumb things” that threaten the health of fellow Manitobans.

Masked men lined up for haircuts at Rene’s Barber Shop are setting an example for the country with preventative pandemic measures.
