NO NEW CASES IN MUSKOKA, BUT 11 IN REST OF SIMCOE

MUSKOKA — No news is good news today if you live in the north end of Simcoe and Muskoka and are worried about rising COVID numbers the last day of September.

With 11 new corona cases Wednesday, Sept. 30, the local health unit’s stats took slight dip, going against the provincial grain.

Across Ontario the province is reporting 625 cases as the pandemic’s second wave ramps up.

And provincial officials are predicting 1,000 cases a day in early October.

Today, according to the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit, which tallies its numbers as of 10 a.m. each day — and usually posts them on their website within a few hours (usually by 1 p.m.) — this week is trending down.

On Monday they reported 29 cases, Tuesday it was 13 and now 11 updated this afternoon at 1 p.m.

The tally included:

  • 4 more in Bradford-West Gwillimbury;
  • 3 in Barrie;
  • 2 in New Tecumseth
  • 1 each in Oro-Medonte and Adjala-Tosorontio.
Wednesday’s numbers add up to 11 in the south end of the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit.
