MUSKOKA LAKES MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING FRIDAY

BRACEBRIDGE — Two drivers were charged with impaired in separate police stops this weekend.

It started on Friday, when OPP at Bracebridge say officers were on patrol at 10:45 p.m. Sept. 25 when they stopped a vehicle on Monck Road.

Their investigation into the driving behaviour led to the arrest of 24-year-old Christian Wilkinson, of Muskoka Lakes Township.

He was charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a), Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b) and Possession of Schedule I substance (cocaine) CDSA 4(1).

Wilkinson is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Dec. 8, 2020.

His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded by law.

The following day, at 7:25 p.m., a member of the public called police to report the concerning behaviour of a motorist travelling on Muskoka Road 117 in Lake of Bays Township.

Officers located the vehicle a short time later and stopped it, charging 19-year-old Sheldon Burry, of Lindsay, with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a), Fail to Comply with Release Order CC 145(5)(a) X 2, Fail to Comply with Recognizance and a variety of Highway Traffic Act Offenses.

He was held in custody and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing this morning, Monday, Sept. 28, 2020.

In less than 24 hours OPP in Bracebridge charged two men with impaired operation of a vehicle.
