SWIM ADVISORIES WEST GRAVENHURST, PORT SYDNEY
MUSKOKA — Two more beaches are back under swim advisories again.
Both the Port Sydney Beach and the West Gravenhurst beach have had the same warnings several times this summer.
The latest reports come on Aug. 11.
The Town of Huntsville says it has been notified by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit that a swimming advisory has been issued for Port Sydney Beach. Swim lessons are relocated to Hutcheson Beach at regular scheduled times.
In Gravenhurst, they say an advisory is a warning to swimmers, but it is not a beach closure.
Based on beach water samples collected by the health unit Monday, Aug. 10, it has been recommended that Muskoka Bay Beach be posted with swim advisory signs.
The beach itself will remain open to the public.
During a swim advisory, the beach is posted with warning signs that the most recent water samples showed bacteria in numbers that may increase your risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections, or stomach illness.
If you choose to swim during a swim advisory, avoid submerging your head or swallowing the water.

Beaches and parks are actively being monitored by town bylaw.
They say as a reminder, misuse or non-compliance of beach protocols and Town by-laws may lead to the closing of beaches, parks and public spaces in an effort to protect the community.
