RAINS RAISE DANGER LEVELS AROUND WASHAGO DAMS

WASHAGO — Rising water levels on Lake Simcoe are a concern for boaters on the Trent Severn Waterway.

Parks Canada began warning boaters Aug. 22 to expect higher than normal water flows around the Washago dams.

They blame recent rains and in the interests of safety, the public is urged to exercise extra caution on or near the water in this area.

Travelling on the Trent Severn Waterway the latter part of August comes with a warning from Parks Canada about navigating Washago dams.
