MAN CHARGED TWICE IN SEPARATE WEEKEND THEFTS
GRAVENHURST — A local man kept police busy here Saturday.
OPP who had been investigating theft from vehicles charged Randy Shanks at his home where they found stolen goods.
Then later that day they got a report of the shoplifting of butane tanks Friday at the Canadian Tire, and they had to go back and charge Shanks again with theft.
The OPP say they received several complaints Saturday regarding unlocked vehicles being entered throughout the night-time hours.
The victims said several high-valued items were stolen from inside vehicles including electronic devices and cash.
Officers tracked the devices to an address on Peter Street in Gravenhurst and recovered some of the items.

Meanwhile, another person provided video footage from their home of an individual trying to enter a vehicle parked in their driveway at 3 a.m.
And police were able to identify that person and have charged 35-year-old Steven Gliddon, of Huntsville, with Trespassing at Night CC 177.
He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 20 to answer to his charge.
