DRIVER DITCHES VEHICLE, CHARGED WITH DRUG IMPAIRED
BRACEBRIDGE — A 34-year-old driver faces a charge this morning of impaired by drug after ditching his vehicle on Hwy. 11.
Police were dispatched to the single vehicle collision northbound just north of Cedar Lane in Bracebridge on Thursday Aug. 20 at 8:20 a.m.
They say the vehicle left the roadway, collided with a guardrail and rolled over into the ditch.
The driver suffered no serious injuries, police say.
Officers arrived and conducted an investigation into the cause of the collision and arrested and charged Daniel Theoret, of Bracebridge, with Impaired Operation By Drug CC 320.14(1)(a).
Theoret is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Oct. 27, 2020.
His driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded.
