BUTANE TORCHES STOLEN, MAN, 30, CHARGED

GRAVENHURST — A local man faces a theft charge after butane torches were stolen from the Canadian Tire here Friday.

Police say that on Saturday they were called to the Talisman Drive business for the reported theft of butane torches worth $250, which had occurred the previous day, Aug. 14.

Officers viewed surveillance footage and were able to identify the suspect.

Police have charged 30-year-old Randy Shanks with Theft Under $5,000.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Oct. 20, 2020.
