14-YEAR-OLD ATV RIDER TAKEN TO SICK KIDS HOSPITAL

GRAVENHURST — A 14-year-old ATV rider is home after sustaining serious injuries that landed him in Sick Kids Hospital.

Police say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collision last week at the KOA.

Police were called to the campground Aug. 9 after the youth had taken the ATV for a ride between 9 p.m. and midnight and did not return.

The youth was located by police walking on Reay Road suffering from various injuries.

Muskoka Paramedic Services arrived and the youth was later taken to hospital in Toronto with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The crashed ATV was located the following morning at an address approximately three kilometres east of the campground on Reay Road.
