GULL LAKE BEACH GETS ALL-CLEAR FOR SWIMMING AGAIN

GRAVENHURST — The public beach at Gull Lake Rotary Park has a clean bill of health now.

A “swim advisory” the past two weeks was lifted this afternoon, Tuesday June 7.

Swimming was still allowed during the hot days before and after Canada Day, but caution was urged when going under water or swallowing water due to a high bacteria count.

The town got the all-clear from the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, which has been monitoring the lake, and says it will continue to monitor all municipal beaches and water quality.

“We thank the public for their cooperation and understanding,” says a town release.

The swim advisory was first issued June 23 and lifted this afternoon, July 7.
