FISHING FUN SIMPLE PLEASURE THAT MADE MUSKOKA
MUSKOKA — Muskoka rocks!
If you’re a fisher for sure.
Rock bass are one of the district’s top catches if you’re a fisher — or fish person.
With free fishing the next two weeks you, too, can be catch “a big one.”
Muskoka has been renowned as a fishing destination for more than a century and it helped birth tourism.
From Indigenous campgrounds to Pittsburgh cottages, fish fries have been a staple of life in this area of Central Ontario.
And so it remains, with idyllic lakes and conditions from Georgian Bay to the Kawarthas, Orillia to almost North Bay.
Algonquin Park wouldn’t be the same without fishing.
So, get out and cast a line (cheap fishing poles are just as fun).
It’s a casual sport you can do — now even while social distancing.
No need for a licence or Outdoors Card till July 19.
And don’t forget to catch and release.
Enjoy Muskoka!
