LETTER: EAT HEALTHY, HELP TRUCKERS
Letter to Editor:
In these depressing times of COVID-19, I thought about sending in a few suggestions Canadians could do to help themselves.
Some people die from the virus. Some do not. So, boot up your immune system with lots of vitamin C and zinc.
Linus Pauling, who won the Nobel Prize in chemistry, suggested years ago to take high dosages (about 10,000 mg of vitamin C daily). I take vitamin C crystals – ¼ teaspoon at a time. That is the equivalent of 1,000 mg.
I’ll take 5,000 to 10,000 mg per day, in addition to eating fruits and vegetables.
The zinc I get when eating shrimp, mussels, oysters and fish.
By having a healthy diet and proper exercise, you are in a better state of mind to heal.
Second big suggestion: Help our truckers.
As businesses close down, the truckers are having problems getting hot meals and showers.
We need a grapevine of people truckers can call upon for a hot meal. And we need public arenas made open for truckers to shower in.
The staff at the arenas would have to clean the showers after use.
Truckers have been saying they are now scared to use showers at truck stops, as some have not been cleaned properly.
We could not survive without food and medicine being delivered to and throughout Canada.
I see on TV people from different parts of the world clapping in appreciation for the help doctors and nurses are doing in these difficult times.
How about doing something more constructive?
Preparing meals and running errands for doctors, nurses and truckers would go a long way in easing their stresses.
Please write in to MuskokaTODAY.com with suggestions to help those who help us so much.
Also, write your politicians with suggestions, so we all can have better health and be better able to survive the corona virus.
