‘GRAVENHURST CARETAGION’ OFFERS ERRANDS TO SELF-ISOLATED

GRAVENHURST — A Good Samaritan has emerged today to help those self-isolating.
Adam Crockatt is spearheading a small group effort to run errands for those who may be housebound by the coronavirus.
Gravenhurst Caretagion 2020, which began Friday, is “a zero-contact” initiative that came out of a conversation Dr. Adam MacLennan.
Crockatt said the doctor “wondered how he could help those in isolation.”
So Crockatt came up with a social media plan and has recruited friend Darryl Underwood.
Mayor Paul Kelly mentioned him in a video post from his own self-isolation on Morrison Lake.
The thirtysomething-year-old Crockatt says he’s self-employed and he has not kids, so he has time on his hands.
He has just started a new business called Greenish, which provide waste reduction services.
He says he’s not worried about coming in contact with COVID-19 at the door or possibly infecting anyone either.
He told MuskokaTODAY.com that “it’s zero contact.”
“We’re taking all the precautions we can” with social distancing.
He says items would be prepaid, so they can simply drop goods off at the door “without contact.”
They’re also willing to work with people to handle any special needs.
