YOU’RE DRUNK … YOU’RE DRIVING … GET OFF THE DAMN ROAD!

GRAVENHURST — Frustrated cops have two words for you this Christmas — if you’re caught drinking and driving during RIDE checks.

And they aren’t “Happy Holidays!”

“You’re busted!”

That’s more like it, says OPP Const. Sam Bigley, after a RIDE check and media blitz Tuesday afternoon on First Street next to the cop shop and fire hall.

It’s the same lament, drivers aren’t all getting the message, as impairments continue year after year, even if they’re not reflected in media releases.

Still, it’s a timely reminder and one that affects not only drivers charged — but those in other vehicles or anyone who may be walking.

And, of course, all their extended families and places of employment.

So, if you’re celebrating with alcohol or drugs, call Uber or a cab.

And don’t frustrate the cops.

Or ruin your life — or anyone else’s.

If you want a ticket to RIDE (cause you don’t care), don’t drink and drive.

Think before you drink.

If you don’t want a ticket to RIDE, don’t drink and drive, say police.
