GRAVENHURST — The Annual Empty Bowls Event will be taking place at 6 pm on Thursday, October 24 at the Gravenhurst High School.
This is truly a community event organized in partnership with the Gravenhurst Rotary Club, Gravenhurst Lions Club and the Gravenhurst High School including the Grade 11 Ceramics Class, senior art students, culinary/hospitality students, music students and popular Muskoka artists and potters.
They are raising funds to aid community members who are struggling with food insecurity and need to take advantage of the Gravenhurst Thursday Night Supper Club, the Salvation Army Food Bank as well as depending on assistance from GAP – Gravenhurst Against Poverty.
Tickets are $25 per person available at the Gravenhurst branch of Scotiabank.
The price includes a variety of homemade soup and breads, cookies for dessert, plus tea and coffee served by community dignitaries.
All the ingredients required have been donated by other community sponsers.
You will also have a chance to choose a keepsake from about 200 unique ceramic soup bowls to take home with you.
Note that a grant was realized from the “Terrance Haight Financial Assistance Program 2019” which covers the costs for clay, glazing and advertising.
There will be a Silent Auction at the Empty Bowls Event as well.
You will have plenty of time to view the wonderful items available and make your bids.
The organizing committee sincerely hopes that you will be able to support Empty Bowls 2019 by joining them for a wonderful autumn dinner.
See you there.
