MAN SERIOUSLY ASSAULTED IN BRACEBRIDGE TODAY

BRACEBRIDGE — Police have a person in custody after a Bracebridge man was seriously assaulted early today.

OPP in Bracebridge arrested a suspect today after an early morning assault on Wellington Street.

Provincial police here says that OPP officers and the Bracebridge Crime Unit are investigating the assault on Wellington Street North shortly after midnight, Tuesday morning, July 23.

The man, who they have not identified, was located by a passerby and taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in serious, but stable condition.

Police have the suspect in custody and there is no ongoing concern to public safety.

And they have not identified the individual they arrested.
