BRACEBRIDGE BEARS REUNION THIS WEEKEND 1970-’83
BRACEBRIDGE — Hockey fans in a hey day of Jr. C. play will want to drop into the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club Friday night for meet and greet with some of the best players from the Bracebridge Bears.
They’re having a reunion of the 1970-1982 teams this weekend.
And it starts with a community booster club night from 7-10 p.m.
All your favourite young starts from some of those Georgian Bay Championship teams are taking part.
Reminiscing about glory days in the old Bracebridge arena barn that teemed with more than a 1,000 fans some nights crammed into the to see the action up close in the small rink that would have made a great movie set for the Hansom Brothers in Slapshot!
The Friday-Saturday fete includes a golf tournament Friday at South Muskoka and a boat cruise on Lake Rosseau Saturday afternoon, followed by a banquet that eventing.
The evening is open to all family, friend’s, and fans of the former JR “C” Bears
Come out and say hello to all of your favorite players from the ’70s and ’80s.
