DRIVING THROUGH STOP SIGN LEADS TO TRAFFIC, DRUG CHARGES

GRAVENHURST — A local woman who police say drove through a stop sign was pulled over and is facing traffic and drug charges.

The driver, 28-year-old Stephanie White, of Gravenhurst, was arrested and charged after a search.

Provincial police say officers on general patrol in the town of Gravenhurst, on Tuesday June 18, 2019, when the vehicle travelling on James Street caught their attention by failing to stop at a posted stop sign.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and during the course of their investigation into the status of the drivers’ license, noticed cannabis available to the driver.

She was charged with Possession of Schedule I Substance – Cocaine CDSA 4(1), Operation While Prohibited CC 320.18, Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available CCA2017 12(1) along with several Highway Traffic Act offences

She is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 16, 2019 to answer to her charges.
