DEEBANK ROAD CRASH LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES

WINDERMERE — A collision on Deebank Road, near Windermere, on Sunday June 16, 2019, just before 1 a.m., has led to an impaired driving charge against a Muskoka Lakes Township man.

A Muskoka Lakes Township man faces impaired driving charges after a collision on Sunday, June 16, near Windermere.

Provincial police at Bracebridge were called to the scene and officers quickly assessed the situation with the assistance of members of the public and determined that no one was injured.

Police arrested and charged the driver, 26-year-old Gaurav Bhatia with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14 (1)(b).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice In Bracebridge on July 23, 2019 to answer to his charges.

OPP would like to offer a reminder that drivers who are charged with impaired driving related offences will have their vehicle impounded and have their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days.
