BOATER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

MUSKOKA LAKES TWP. — Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit has been very busy patrolling area lakes in an ongoing effort to keep Muskoka waterways safe.

On Friday June 21, 2019, just before 10 p.m., officers stopped a vessel on Lake Muskoka for an infraction, and during the course of their investigation became concerned about the presence of alcohol.

The boat operator, 54-year-old Graham Clarke, of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with Operation while Impaired (over 80) CC 320.14(1)(b).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice In Bracebridge on July 16, 2019 to answer to his charge.

Police charged a Hamilton boater with impaired driving June 21.

OPP would like to offer a reminder that much like operators of motor vehicles, operators of vessels who are charged with an Impaired Operation offence will lose their driver’s licence for 90 days.
