SALUTE LIONS CLUB FLAG PROGRAM WITH DONATION
GRAVENHURST — The crisp, new red and white Canadian flags lining the main street of Gravenhurst this weekend are a sign that Muskoka has not given up in its fight against climate change.
After more than a month of drowning in knee-high spring waters, were holding heads above water as we an overdure start to summer has more or less arrived.
And what better way welomce a change in seasons than the fluttering of the the red and white lining the main street of the Gateway to Muskoka.
Thanks to the Lions Club, of Gravenhurst, those crisp, red and whites make you want to stand at attention at each one and salute or place your hand over your heart.
There are over 150 up around town, “and they look great,” admits Lion Dave Durant.
However, he says the club can still use some help sponsor the program they’ve run for years.
He says any donation amount would be appreciated, but a sponsorship of $50 or more will be recognized:
- On our web page;
- On social media;
- On a sign board at events we conduct around town and;
- With a “thank you” ad published in the local paper.
Donations can be made:
- By e-transfer to [email protected] with “flag” as the security word;
- Or with a cheque mailed to the Lions Club of Gravenhurst, PO Box 582, Gravenhurst, ON. P1P 1T9;
- Or by cash.
If you wish your cheque or cash picked up, please call Lion Kathy at 289‐795-6747 or 705-687-7150 or email [email protected].
