FEDERAL LANDMARK FACADE GETTING FACELIFT

GRAVENHURST — Workers will be watching over downtown Gravenhurst this summer.

In follow-up to some previous work the past year on the federal landmark at the intersection of Bay, Muskoka Road and Brock Street, the post office building is covered again in huge scaffolding.

The green façade screening covering the front is part of ongoing preservation of the nearly century-old building, opened in July 1926 (see historic Ligh of the Other Days photo below).

A Muskoka landmark is undergoing further repairs to its exterior, which will take all summer, says a post office worker.
