WOMAN, 30, STRUCK ON HWY. 11 BY HIT-RUN DRIVER

GRAVENHURST — A hit-and-run on Hwy. 11 early this morning has a 30-year-old woman fighting for her life in hospital in Toronto.

A Hwy. 11 gas bar in Gravenhurst was robbed late Thursday night by a person who said they had a weapon.

And police are looking for a witness or two who may have seen the collision, which took place just after 5 a.m. April 25.

Provincial police closed Hwy. 11 southbound, south of Gravenhurstat Sparrow Lake Road Route D and as of 9:50 a.m. said it remains closed and traffic is being detoured around the scene while OPP investigators determine what happened.

They say the vehicle that struck the woman failed to remain at the scene.

The Bracebridge OPP are looking for person(s) who may have witnessed this collision and may be able to identify the vehicle involved.
