WHO HIT A PEDESTRIAN ON HWY. 11 AND TOOK OFF AT 5 A.M. APR. 24?
GRAVENHURST — Someone knows who hit a female pedestrian walking on Hwy. 11 south of Gravenhurst last week.
The driver involved in the hit-and-run.
And possibly witnesses, say police who are looking for information after a 30-year-woman was struck early Wednesday morning, April 24.
Police think someone must have seen a pedestrian who was hit.
They are looking for anyone who may have been driving on Hwy. 11 south of Gravenhurst at 5 a.m. Thursday April 24 who may have seen the accident or a vehicle headed south or who may have turned off the highway.
The OPP are appealing to anyone who may have information about the 5 a.m. incident.
The woman, who was taken to hospital in Toronto suffering life-threatening injuries, was struck on the southbound section of the highway near Sparrow Lake Route D in the Town of Gravenhurst.
Police say the vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
The southbound lanes of Hwy. 11 were closed for several hours in the moring while officers from the collision reconstruction unit gathered evidence.
The Bracebridge OPP are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this collision and may be able to identify the vehicle involved.
