TRISHA COWIE ACCLAIMED AS LIBERAL CANDIDATE

PARRY SOUND-MUSKOKA — Liberals are hoping familiarity will be help them win the federal seat about to be vacated by independent MP Tony Clement.

Trisha Cowie won 39 per cent of the vote in 2015 vote against retiring MP Tony Clement.

“We are very pleased to announce that the Team Trudeau 2019 Nomination Meeting for Parry Sound-Muskoka has been called for Wednesday, May 8, 2019,” say a party release.

Trisha Cowie, as the only qualified nomination contestant to have completed the nomination process, will be acclaimed at the nomination meeting as our Liberal candidate in the next general election in October.

Cowie was the riding’s Liberal candidate in the 2015 federal election, coming in a close second with 39 percent of the vote, says the release.
The location and time of the meeting will follow as soon as possible.
