MINDEN HILLS DECLARES FLOOD EMERGENCY

HALIBURTON — A second municipality in east Central Ontario has declared a flood emergency.

The Township of Minden Hills is the latest to declare a state of emergency due to rising  levels.

They made it official at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Bracebridge did the same on Tuesday, receiving a visit from the premier the next day.

Minden Hills and provincial police there are encouraging residents to take necessary precautions to protect personal safety and property, and continue to monitor developing conditions.

They advise residents that sand and sandbags are available for use.

And they say don’t hesitate to call 911 in an emergency.
