Gryphons’ slow start costs them Game 3 to Almonte, 65-47
LONDON — That fast start the GHS Gryphons were gaining momentum with, slowed Tuesday at noon in the Game 3 at the OFSSA provincial basketball championships.

They hit double digits in the first quarter, but their opponent Almonte District High School doubled them, for a 20-10 lead.
A better second quarter by GHS gave them 24 points at the half; however, Almonte doubled their first period score again, for 40 points.
The second half saw fewer points for both teams, Almonte growing its lead to 53-29.
And although the fourth quarter was better for the Gryphons, with 18 points, all Almonte needed was a dozen points to finish the game winners, 65-47.
Not bad for the 14th seed team vs. the No. 3 seed.
The loss left GHS with one win and two losses.
Gryphon Logan Fick was the top GHS scorer, with 19 points, in the loss that eliminates the team.
