Bomb scare at Patrick Fogarty Catholic school in Orillia proves false

ORILLIA Buses were diverted and the Catholic high school here was evacuated early this morning after school officials arrived to find a bomb threat.

School officials arrived Monday morning to find an explosive device threat and evacuated the school and diverted buses immediately.

Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded Monday morning.

They say that on Dec. 3, police responded to reports that a message had been left at Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School stating that an explosive device had been planted.

School officials evacuated the building immediately and redirected incoming school buses prior to police arrival.

The initial investigation has been completed and no suspicious device was located.

The school has since been reopened and students are returning to classes.
