Bracebride arena closed due to amonia leak

Bracebridge Memorial Arena is closed until further notice after an amonia leak Nov. 27.

BRACEBRIDGE — Skating and hockey at the local rink here have cancelled Tuesday due to an ammonia leak.

Officials from the town said the leak at the Bracebridge Memorial Arena has been contained.

However, it will remain closed for the rest of the day, and all scheduled programming has been cancelled for Nov. 27.

They say that appropriate provincial agencies were notified of the leak and staff are working to confirm timing for re-opening the facility.

Chub Downey Lane, next to the arena, will also remain closed for the balance of the day.

Further notification will be provided once additional information is available.
