Second stolen truck found torched, police still chasing elusive thief

HUNTSVILLE Police are closing in on an elusive thief believed involved in one, if not two stolen and torched vehicles.

A stolen black Dodge Ram truck similar to this was found burned in the Parry Sound area. It is the second stolen torched truck found by police.

After chasing the slippery suspect through town early Monday, the OPP have located a burned-out truck they believe the man was driving.

On Monday August 20, provincial police from the Huntsville and Almaguin detachments chased a stolen Dodge Ram pickup truck for hours after a report that it was seen in Huntsville in the area of Grandview Dr. and Highway 60 in Huntsville On.

Police have been trying to locate the vehicle they say was involved in break, enters and thefts in the area.

Thefts include not only the Dodge Ram pickup truck with an Ontario marker AF49369, but ATV’s, utility flatbed trailer, SeaDoos, numerous other small engine type items and firearms.

They also say that a GMC Suburban that was located on fire on Hutcheson Beach Rd. on Sunday August 19, was confirmed to be stolen and involved in some of the thefts.

Meanwhile, the black Dodge Ram pickup truck has been located burned in the Parry Sound area.

Police are no longer looking for this vehicle.

However, the suspect male remains at large.
