NHL ALUMNI CHARITY GAME TO HELP NEONATAL UNIT

BARRIE — MP Alex Nuttall recently paid a visit to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) to promote the upcoming Hockey Night in Barrie event at the Barrie Molson Centre.

MP Alex Nutall and the Marshal family.

The game, which features NHL players, local politicians and celebrities, takes place on Thursday, Aug. 9.

While at RVH, Nuttall paid a visit to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where he met newborn twins Bryan and Bryce, mom Stephanie Marshall and new big brother Austin, who was treated to complementary tickets for the game.

This year’s lineup includes former NHL players Mike Gartner, Greg Johnston, Rick Jackman, Travis Dermott and Brandon Mashinter.

The list also includes three former Barrie Colts — Daniel Tkaczuk, Darren Archibald and Andrew Mangiapane — who will make their return to the Barrie Molson Centre.

One of Canada’s top hockey players, Laura Fortino, is also scheduled to attend. The Canadian defenceman is a decorated Olympian, and has four World Championships.

Over the last decade, the hockey game has raised $2 million for charities including RVH.

Some of the proceeds from Thursday’s event will be used to support a much-needed renovation and equipment purchase for RVH’s NICU.

Tickets to the charity game presented by MP Alex Nuttall, can be purchased online at  www.ticketpro.ca. For more information and updates on player announcements follow @HockeyNightB on Twitter or Facebook.com/HockeyNightinBarrie.
