Transport thief tore up dash looking to hot wire truck

SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP Police are looking for an attempted transport theft.

A thief tried to steal a transport at the Currie Truck Centre.

Provincial police at the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking the public for their assistance in solving this crime.

They say that at about 12:49 a.m. on July 23, unknown suspect(s) entered 2 Currie Drive, Currie Truck Center, west of Barrie, driving a white Ford cube van.

The unknown suspect(s) approached a brand new Freightliner black dump truck and smashed the front passenger’s side window in order to gain access into the vehicle. The suspect(s) removed the trucks dashboard and panels, as well as the ignition switch, in attempts to hotwire the vehicle but was unsuccessful.
