Men of Song & guests June 16 concert
BRACEBRIDGE — It may seem like a Christmas concert — or at least a hopeful wish.
But the Muskoka Men of Song are an optimistic bunch and their spring/summer concert next month is a testament to that.
Let Their Be Peace on Earth, Saturday June 16, 7 p.m., at is pretty much preaching to the converted.
In the comfy confines of the Pinegrove Fellowship Church (295 Taylor Rd., Bracebridge) the choral group will be at home preaching to the already converted.
Fans of entertaining men’s choir won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear their renditions of popular and occasionally obscure pieces.
From pop and traditional music to some middle-of-the road showtunes, the 20-some members perform a lively couple of sets that will have you tapping your toes or snapping your fingers.
But always applauding at the end of each song.
Joining the Men of Song are the small groups FOGG (Five Old Guys, or Four Old Guys and a Girl) and MenFolk.
Both are well known in the Muskoka world of sing-song.
And there is the annual presentation of the Men of Song’s Sean Kelly Bursary Winners, awards for local artists named in memory of the former lawyer and singer.
Tickets are $20 and $12 for children, who will also enjoy the show. They are available at TIGGs and Worth Repeating and at the door.
