Boy, 11, turns down ride from white pickup truck driver

HALIBURTON — Police in Minden Hills are still looking for a white pickup truck after a young boy was offered a ride.

Police are looking for full-size white pickup truck with a black tank in the back, driven by middle-aged man in glasses with a grey beard.

Provincial police say that on May 23, Haliburton Highlands OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle concern on Bobcaygeon Road in the Township of Minden Hills.

They say that on May 22, sometime between 4 and 5 p.m. on Bobcaygeon Road near Parkside Street, an 11 year-old male student said he was offered a ride by and older male in a two-door white full-sized pick-up truck with a black tank in the back.

The student declined the offer and walked away.

The driver left and was last seen on Bobcaygeon Road.

He is described as an older male, between 40-50 years of age with a grey beard, eye glasses, wearing a grey hat and a black shirt with holes in it.

Police are looking to speak with the driver of the vehicle or with any witnesses that were in the area at the time of the incident.
