MPP: Who’s it going to be? Hear nominees speak

GRAVENHURST — With the NDP gaining ground, the Conservatives in the lead and the Liberals holding on for dear life, the first all-candidates meeting in Muskoka should be entertaining, enlightening and politcally enjoyable.

So, get out your smartphones, open your calendar and enter:

Date:

  • May 15

Location:

  • Gravenhurst Opera House

Time:

  • 6-8 p.m.

And link it to your other social media friends, enemies and all political junkies.

The Q&A forum is being hosted by the Gravenhurst and Bracebridge chambers of commerce. It is sponsored by the Lakelands Association of Realtors.

You’ll hear incumbent MPP Norm Miller defend himself by explaining why he thinks this time he finally could cross the legislature from oppostion to government.

Maybe.

And hear Brenda Rhodes defend her government’s leader and Premier Kathleen Wynne.

Possibly.

Or listen to Matt Richter, the no longer a green Green candidate, finally be taken seriously.

Who knows.

And you’ll hear the NDP — who promise someone who could come up the middle.

Realistically?

And look for some longshot party reps.

Whoever you want to hear, the Opera House will be their stage.

You can be the audience.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for a meet-and-greet with the candidates and the teams of supporters.

If you can’t make it — or are too shy to ask a question from the floor — email the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce with your question at: [email protected].
