OPP stop driver, seize $3,000 in drugs

BRACEBRIDGE — Police say they seized more than $3,000 worth of illegal drugs from an unidentified man in a traffic stop.

The OPP did not identify the suspect.

They say in a release that on Monday March 5, that just before 12:30 p.m. OPP officers from the Bracebridge detachment responded to a complaint from a concerned member of the public about the driving behaviour of another motorist traveling south on Highway 11 South in Bracebridge.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 South just south of Muskoka Road 118 in Bracebridge and began conducting an investigation into the driving concerns.

One of the OPP Drug Recognition Expert’s (DRE) assisted with the investigation, which resulted in the seizure of over $3,000 of illegal drugs.

Police did not identify the alleged driver in their news release.
