Employee disarms robber with knife Tuesday

BRACEBRIDGE — A convenience store employee wrestled a large knife from a would-be robber early this morning.

A convenience store employee disarmed a would-be robber March 6.

Provincial police arrested a man just after after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 6.

They were called to a local convenience store on Manitoba Street in Bracebridge after a man entered the store, presented a weapon and demanded cash.

The employee was able to gain control of the weapon, a large knife, and the man fled only to return as he wanted his weapon back.

Police were on scene within minutes and arrested and charged 19 year-old Noah Wilson, of Bracebridge, with Armed Robbery CC 343(d) X 2 and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place LLA 31(4).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on March 27, 2018.
