Huntsville ER delays due to flooring upgrades

HUNTSVILLE Longer waiting times in emergency department at the Huntsville hospital site are possible until Feb. 26 due to new flooring work.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says the cast room and adjacent hallway in the ER will remain temporarily closed.

Due to the closure, the ER is operating with six fewer patient treatment areas, and therefore patients could experience longer wait times as the department has fewer patient care areas available.

They add flow within the department will be more congested, which may necessitate limits on the number of visitors for patients inside the department because of the limited space.

“Our staff will do its best to minimize the disruption and impact on patient flow,” says Natalie Bubela, chief executive officer in a release.

“We appreciate your patience during the construction period, and your understanding of the potential noise associated with the work.”
