3 Bracebridge residents charged in drug raid
BRACEBRIDGE — Three Bracebridge residents were caught with $10,000 worth of drugs and $10,000 worth of cash in police raid Friday.
Provinicial police say that on February 23, 2018, the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and OPP from Bracebridge executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a Manitoba Street address.
Three people were arrested and more than $10,000 worth of controlled substances, including cocaine, hydromorphone contin, morphine, methadone, and cannabis marijuana were seized.
Police also seized over $10,000 in currency.
As a result of this investigation the following people have been charged.
Deborah Ferguson, 60, faces:
Five (5) counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 – S. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of a prohibited device – S. 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Richard McKenzie, 49, faces:
Five (5) counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking – S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Those two were held in custody for a bail hearing in the Town of Newmarket conducted via video on Saturday, February 24.
Josh Stead, 37, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
He was held in custody and brought to a bail hearing the same day in Bracebridge.
